8 December 2017Paralympian and Strictly star, Jonnie Peacock, brings his talent to Winter Wonderwheels fun run
A PARALYMPIAN and TV Star joined over 600 disabled people for a local fun run.
Jonnie Peacock, who has won gold multiple times in the Paralympics 100m sprint and was a recent competitor on Strictly Come Dancing, lead hundreds in a run and wheel around Dorney Lake, near Windsor, as part of the ‘Winter Wonderwheels’ event.
Many participants dressed up in superhero outfits for the non-competitive sporting event on Sunday.
Mr Peacock said: “The atmosphere here today was electric.
“To see so many people dressed up in fun costumes and heading round the course is all kinds of amazing gadgets and gizmos was simply incredible.
“The best thing of all was meeting people who achieved things today that they once thought impossible.”
Over 3,000 people came to spectate and cheer on the runners around the three lakeside challenges, which ranged from 1km to 10km tracks.
Mr Peacock was recently voted off Strictly, the BBC Saturday night favourite show after becoming the first disable contestant to take part in the TV reality competition.
